The Korean National Organising Committee is honoured that the 21st World LP Gas Forum will be held this year in Seoul, Korea. On behalf of the Korean LP Gas industry, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome LP Gas stakeholders from all over the world to Seoul to meet, discuss and exchange ideas on the role that LP Gas has to play in this modern world.
The World LP Gas Association, the global and authoritative voice of the industry organises an Annual Forum in a different region each year. It brings senior executives, policy makers, other distinguished stakeholders and opinion leaders together to further expand our industry. This year, the chosen theme ‘Clean Energy for a Low Carbon World’ will instigate valuable discussions, providing participants with information on the role of the LP Gas industry in today’s world. The need to mitigate climate change through LP Gas use brings with it business opportunities, ideas for innovation and new horizons and we are excited to be involved.
Energy resources are extremely valuable today. Worldwide, countries are making every effort to secure energy resources and ensure supply. We need to optimise limited resources while also ensuring that everyone has access to clean, modern energy. The chosen theme of the 21st World LP Gas Forum is also meaningful today because of the relationship between modern energy requirements and the future of our planet. Security of supply is also an important part of the sustainability discussion and we are eager to facilitate all these exchanges at the Forum.
The Korean LP Gas industry has experienced rapid growth for over 40 years. In Korea today, 2.2 million vehicles run on Autogas and 6.5 million households consume LP Gas for their domestic needs. Technology and innovation are a typical element of Korean businesses and society and LP Gas is no exception. Advanced technologies are integrated into a wide range of applications including transportation, storage, distribution, safety control and autogas vehicle manufacturing. We are interested in exchanging knowledge and experiences with other LP Gas stakeholders at every level and in all sectors of the business. Our goal together as an industry is to grow the business more and engage fully with all our stakeholders.
Working together for a cleaner and more prosperous world, where everyone has access to energy is our goal. Together with the World LP Gas Association, we will help engage all LP Gas stakeholders to discuss and debate every perspective of our industry.
The Korean National Organising Committee will make the 21st Forum very constructive and fruitful. We look forward to seeing you in Seoul.
